James Taylor Database Home

What is this?

The James Taylor Database is a user-created and modified reference work hosted by James Taylor Online. The goal is to create the most complete and accurate collection of JT-related information anywhere on the net. The software we use is a type of Wiki, which allows a group of people to collectively create and edit online documents.

What kind of information does the database contain (or will it contain in the future)?

Detailed discographies, exhaustive historical concert listings, set lists, biographical information, band member information, etc. Just about anything JT-related is fair game.

How do I help?

Create new content, expand existing content where you can, and generally help the database grow. Even if you don't have new content to add, you can help proof-read and fact-check. Nearly every page in the database is instantly editable by anyone, so don't be afraid to join in. You can also post comments or questions on any page of the site. To get started first register as a new user via the link in the right-hand column.

Where to post question like this= JT Piano Movie Score?
on: Fri 24 of Nov, 2006 [05:46 UTC] score: 0.20
Not sure where to post this question, so start here in Bio since it is empty.
In the late 80's I saw a nice movie on TV, perhaps Arts & Entertainment channel. ? At some point there was a lovely piano piece, instrumental only, sort of ballad like, very beautiful. Later at the credits it said music played by James Taylor. Can not quite remember if it was just played or written by JTor what. Just know I liked it. Always wondered if I could find a copy somewhere.
The MOVIE story was about a traveling salesman in the south who had two seperate wives/ families. He would go from one to the other. One was in a woodsy type setting, a cabin of sorts. The main character walked a while with that number two wife or perhaps alone and the James Taylor piano music came along, Sort melancoly or bluesey, whatever. Could have been just that one song or perhaps he did the score for the whole movie. Assume someone could ask him directly and he may remember. I have waited to get on his official site chat forum but seems like not there yet? Oh yeah this was circa 1980's perhaps 85,86, 88. I checked the list pages database here for some of those years and I did not see anything, also did a search on 'movie piano' and a few other things, no luck. perhaps someone reading this ( Corey??) will know some helpful hints/links . Thanks, Borg

I've made changes to the way logins are handled. Be sure to select "Remember Me" when you're logging in. It should time out much less often now.
