Tour Contest

Thought I’d encourage good reporting on the European tour by sweetening the pot: First person to email me a complete concert set list and in-depth review from tomorrow night’s first show in Cambridge will win a free CD of their choice shipped to their door. Take good notes, folks.

Arnold McCuller Chat

An edited log of last night’s chat with Arnold McCuller is available on the TEXT page. He reports that rehearsals for a JT U.S. summer tour (west of Chicago only) will begin in May and shows will last through September. Arnold also plans to have a second solo album ready in time for that tour.

Ben Taylor In the Studio

Bill Jones reports that JT himself told him Ben Taylor is going into the studio to “lay down some tracks” with veteran producer Arif Mardin. No other details for now.

Just spoke to JT’s popular backup singer Arnold McCuller and he’s agreed to do both an interview for the SBJ newsletter and a chat here on JT Online. The date for the chat isn’t chosen yet, but will probably be in the next couple weeks. In the meantime, I’m asking all of you to come up with the questions for me to ask him during the interview. Got a burning question for Mr. McCuller? Just send it along or post it to the FORUM.

JT on the BBC

I wasn’t tipped off until after the fact, but quite a few U.K. folks wrote in to say that JT appeared on BBC 1’s “Hogmany Live” TV show on New Year’s Eve. He reportedly performed “Carolina In My Mind,” “Your Smiling Face,” “Ananas,” and “Wild Mountain Thyme” before joining in a group rendition of “Auld Lang Syne.”

“Carolina Day”

Livingston Taylor’s upcoming “early years” collection, “Carolina Day: The Livingston Taylor Collection (1970-1980)” is now scheduled for release on February 24.

Vote Often and Early
