Tales From the Road

James Taylor background vocalist David Lasley debuts his “Tales From the Road – David’s Reports From the James Taylor Summer 2001 Tour” today at DavidLasley.com “Tales” will feature descriptions of his experiences during the tour, including performances, meeting fans, visiting his favorite places in the different cities, and random observations. The bi-weekly reports, which will also include “guest reports” by other James Taylor band members, will be accompanied by photos.


New David Lasley Release

Singer/songwriter and long-time James Taylor background vocalist David Lasley has released “Back To Blue-Eyed Soul” (ZACODA). A retrospective of Lasley’s extensive career, the CD features rare recordings dating back to 1966, many of which are being made available for the first time. In addition to his work as solo artist and as a background vocalist for James Taylor (and Bette Midler, Bonnie Raitt, and countless others), Lasley is best-known for the hundreds of songs he has written for artists such as Anita Baker (“You Bring Me Joy”), Maxine Nightingale (“Lead Me On”) and many more. “Back To Blue-Eyed Soul” is available from the official David Lasley web site.
